The Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS) is the only body in Nigeria empowered to conduct qualifying examinations and providing professional qualifications to Stockbrokers, Securities Dealers, Financial & Investment Analysts, and Portfolio & Fund Managers. The Institute also regulates the activities of its members and for matters connected therewith.

Professional
To obtain the Chartered Stockbroker qualification and the ACS designation, you ought to have completed the two levels of the Institute’s Professional exams. Both exam levels contain the same (number and types) of subjects, but have different level of difficulty. The subjects are divided into papers as follows:

Financial Accounting and Financial Statement Analysis.
Economics and Financial Markets.
Quantitative Analysis and Statistics.
Paper 2
Corporate Finance.
Equity Valuation and Analysis.
Fixed Income Valuation and Analysis.
Paper 3

Ethics and Professional Standards.
Laws relating to Securities and Investments.
Regulations and practice of Securities and Corporate Finance.
Level I:
You will gain the basic knowledge and understanding of the subjects.
Level II:
You will gain an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the subjects.
Diploma
The CIS Professional Diploma is a foundation course for operations staff and new entrants to the Securities and Investment industry. To obtain the qualification, you will need to register as a student of the Institute and complete two stages of examinations. Each stage of the CIS Diploma contains two Modules, and each Module contains a number of subjects:
